History Group

Buckland History Group was established many years ago and has now amassed a fantastic archive of files, photographs, publications and items all of which is stored in the Simon Bird room, named after its founder, in the Village Hall. The group has also published a number of booklets, arranged many talks and exhibitions and organised visits to a variety of places in the area.

However, the number of group members has dwindled in recent years and it’s in danger of being wound up. It needs a volunteer or two to take on the management of the archive but also two or three people willing to do some fund raising as the Simon Bird room is rented from the village hall.
