Heating Oil Help Page
Oil Club
The Oil Club purports to be the largest family run oil club in the UK.
The Rudge, Frome, Standerwick & Buckland Dinham Heating Oil Club takes orders and makes deliveries as and when there are enough to require a full tanker to the area. They shop around to find the best deal from the local suppliers. By doing this they are able to bulk buy and we have found them to be very reasonably priced. This system also reduces carbon emissions by bulk delivery.
It might not suit everyone, as, to get the best deal, they may not deliver for up to 14 days.
Contact Peter (from the village) [email protected] for his experiences.

LOCAL INITIATIVE AIMS TO HELP HOUSEHOLDS SAVE ON HEATING OIL WITH THE COST OF HEATING remaining a concern for many rural households, a local initiative, Oil4Homes, continues to help residents in villages in the Bath and Mendip area save money on heating oil. Many homes in our area rely on heating oil, yet prices can vary considerably depending on when and how oil is purchased, particularly with the current crisis in the Middle East. Oil4Homes brings local households together so larger, combined orders can be negotiated with trusted local suppliers, helping members access competitive prices while continuing to receive deliveries directly from established fuel companies. The idea is simple: by buying together, communities can often achieve better value than individual households ordering separately. Oil4Homes is based locally and operates with rural communities in mind. Membership is free, with no obligation to purchase. Members simply register their interest and will be invited to participate whenever a buying round is organised in their area. If the negotiated price is right, they can choose to order. If not, there is no obligation to proceed. As well as helping households reduce heating costs, buying collectively can also improve delivery efficiency by grouping orders within local villages. If your home is heated by oil and you would like to hear about future buying rounds, simply register your interest free of charge at www.oil4homes.co.uk. Together, local households can achieve better prices while supporting trusted local suppliers.
