Speed Indication Devices

Speed Indication Device (SID)
There are two in Buckland Dinham located at the entry/exit points.
They are in Display mode for 2 weeks in every six. This is stipulated by Somerset Council as drivers become used to static signs, more likely to react to intermittent signage.
As we have two, they are usually on one at a time so we have Display activity for four weeks in every six. Many vehicles travel through twice a day, many several times a day so they will see one sign on.
The SIDs still collect traffic volume and speeds even when not in Display mode.
